Classes, Workshops & Events

I offer a variety of Botanical Watercolour Painting Classes and Workshops, ranging from one-off session, to longer courses.  I also sell my work and homeware range at events, and it’s a lovely to meet people and have a chat about all things Botanical.

Materials and beverages are included in all my classes, while some of the Workshops involve a rather special tea as a real treat!

 

Taster/Introduction
These two-hour sessions offer people the chance to try Botanical painting before committing to a regular course. During the class we’ll look at composition, drawing, watercolour technique and painting. 

 

Termly courses
This series of three-hour classes is a natural progression from the Taster session, but is also suitable for those who would like to join without having attended an introduction. Structured over several weeks, each session will focus on a different project, and include a more in-depth look at Botanical techniques.

Suitable for beginners or more experienced artists
Three hours, once a week, beverages and a gluten-free sweet treat included

Workshops

These seasonal pop-up events are a lovely way of having a go at watercolour, while focussing on a particular theme including Spring Blossoms, Roses, Harvest, Forest Floor, and Christmas Cards. The sessions are held at different venues mainly in East and West Sussex, but also further afield – follow me on Instagram @pennysandersonart for regular updates. All of the Workshops are at amazing venues and often include free entry to a garden or afternoon tea to make a special treat!

Evening Taster 20th March (7-9pm)

De La Casa Studio, Keymer Road, Hassocks

This is a great opportunity for people who want to have a go at Botanical painting, but can’t make the daytime classes. £25pp

 

Petworth Spring Fair

23th and 24th March (10am-4pm) 
To celebrate the beginning of Spring, there will be a specially designed Daffodil trail, plus lots of art and crafts stalls. 

Spring Bulbs Botanical Painting Workshop, plus Cream Tea

18th April (2-4pm)
Borde Hill Gardens, Haywards Heath RH16 1XP
A seasonal painting workshop for beginners or experienced artists alike, focusing on the wonderful flora at this time of year…all of which can hopefully be taken straight from the garden. The event will include all watercolour materials, free entry to the garden as well as a delicious cream tea. £45pp

Artists Open Houses (every weekend in May, including Bank Holidays, 11am-5pm)

Spend a lovely day strolling around Ditchling, and see the extraordinary range of artwork in this pretty East Sussex village. As part of the trail, our venue will host an amazing collection of original paintings, ceramics and jewellery.

This beautiful house and gardens will be host a celebration of the fine produce, art and crafts in Sussex.
